K9 Ava started her SAR training early in life, beginning with obedience training along with short run aways/hides at home. Ava onboarded to the team a few months later and began her official wilderness live find training. At the age of 14 months old, Ava passed her first 40 acre wilderness certification with the Rhode Island State Police. Since then Ava has been certified in human remains and wilderness search with The International Police Working Dog ASSOCIATION.

Outside of her SAR work Ava enjoys doing agility work, playing fetch with her favorite pink grenade toy, going to the sandbar with her friends, and long walks at the beach.
